Just Bad Business
I live in Walker Louisiana and recently purchased a mobile home from the local true homes dealer. He did not tell me that after putting a $2700 down payment there would be more charges. First it was $300 for a flood permit, then it was $800 for a pad then it was $1, 400 for installation which included a buildup for it being in a flood area. I was not notified of when the trailer would be set up and they said it crooked on my property. Whenever I notified him of it he came and looked at it and said there was nothing that could be done. At the end of the day, only having to pay $1,000 of the closing cost was a pretty good deal, especially with the way the market is right now.
You could see there were pieces of trash. Then, they built the fence and nothing was done to the backyard to make it even or decent. They also had torn up the sod and there were five pieces of sod that were just mud. It was a very large and very obvious place that should have been fixed. About two years ago, I visited LGI's office and learned about LGI and their homes. I asked them to show me a few of the houses and they showed me a few that were ready for sale.

I have waited over a week for the "warranty" person to get back to me since we are having out of town guests coming and I am frankly embarrassed. All homes are constructed with materials which may be left out in the rain. This is especially true for subfloor/decking as the walls are going up. I am not and cannot speak to your other issues but just wanted to clarify that for you. You should also be aware that their isn't a single home in the SE built on a standard crawlspace that DOESN'T have mold.
They said that by the time I get back, all the blue tape would be gone and all the touch-ups would be done. But we walk in the door and there were blue tapes everywhere and no touch-ups had been done. Other than those, the process went very smoothly and the community is really great.

I had told him specifically where I wanted the house. I didn't want it on a main corner of a main street. I wanted it where if you turn from the main street, you got to do a couple of turns to get to the street. Tommy would send me pictures every time he would come out here and show me the next level like when the cabinets were put in and when the flooring was put in. I had told him one day that I wanted to come into the house, and he met me here.
They've been really good at getting out here and taking care of what needed to be taken care of, like the air conditioning and the plumbing. I had some major problems the first couple of days I moved in but because they handled it, it didn't continue to be a big problem. I rate the quality of construction as a 4 out of 5.

As a change out I don't feel this was warranted. I will have to purchase steps as the ones they left are to short. Finally, ants stopped getting into the room after we sprayed one gallon of insect killer. It might be toxic for my sister who was pregnant but we didn't have any other choice. Eventually, a guy knocked at the door after we called them persistently. What he stated was that they wouldn't fix any crack unless the foundation cracked.
We purchased the Schumacher home three years ago. At that time the previous owners had lived in it for eight years. Today we started the bathroom remodel. When we pulled off the shower tiles, we found that they were placed on drywall. We've dealt with mildew for some time now and suspect more damage as we continue to pull off the tiles. Clearly this was not the proper way of installing a tiled shower.
